Sitting by a fire

Posted in 1 on September 19, 2009 by keysdogg

There is something about sitting out doors in the country next to a fire, looking up at the stars and just letting the day pass on. It is amazing the amount of stars that can be seen, even the “Milky Way” so peaceful and relaxing. For this day I say goodnight

Farm work

Post hole digger
Aroung the farm everything is manual labor and just a plain workout to say the least. We were digging this hole for the new 200 ft clothes line that we made to cut down on the electric from the dryer. With 30mph wind and 98 degree heat the clothes are dry by the time you get them on the line.

Crickett
We have been on the road for close to six hours and Crickett has been very vocal. Annie sleeps on the passenger floor board. Both dogs are doing pretty good for not being used to traveling around to say the least cross country. This photo was taken as we rolled through Georgia. Tonight we rest in Macon, GA. and tomorrow we head to Memphis, TN.

A crazy day shows the facts

Posted in 1 on July 12, 2009 by keysdogg

My departure from the Keys was started with trailer light failures driving up and down US#1 and complete terror of the equipment I was intending to drive across the US with. After being terrified on familiar roads I decided to leave behind the cab over camper which is designed for a larger truck than mine, swaying blindly down the road is not what I want to do for 3500 miles, would you like me to be on the road like that next to you I doubt it.

The last few days are the most hecktick

Posted in 1 on July 7, 2009 by keysdogg

Well the hour glass is almost out of sand.   A drop off to the vet to pick up tick collars and 2 bottles of awesome dip cost $104.00.

Next stop was the pet shop for harnesses and retractable leashes $86.00.

Ok my dogs are an important part of this trip and I don’t want critters in my bed nor for them to break free in a unfamiliar area.  So I am rested with the spend.  Trailer lights are the latest thing to cause hair loss beware if you attempt.  Always think before you commit I could really could have used  the days off before I leave,  maybe less stress.

New throw rugs are in place of the ones that were soiled by the dogs on 4th of July.  The truck is cleaned up inside and the trailer is packed to the max.  Still more to do but 99% complete for Friday afternoon departure.

First stop Ocala, FL. to visit with sister Dee and Bro in law Carl & nephews .

Well that’s it for this Tuesday.

God be with you all.
